The opera will combine sym-metry and cycle with emotional eruption to show how our psychological sophistication counts for nothing at the moment when we recognise our dreams, and how our dreams are undermined by our insight into them.

John Studzinski, Chairman of the Genesis Opera Project, today announced the outcome of the first Genesis Opera Project. The panel have decided to apportion a £20,000 prize across the three creative teams in recognition of the different but very real achievements of their strong, diverse talents and approaches.

Jean-Philippe Calvin, the French composer, has written a short piece of music dedicated to Genesis Founder and Chairman John  Studzinski. The piece is called Sophia (Wisdom, in the Ancient Greek language). The piece is profoundly spiritual and is mixed with Oriental Timelessness, aspiring to the depth and feeling of a Byzantine Chant.
