John Studzinski CBE established the Genesis Foundation in January 2001. Genesis supports and nurtures emerging professional composers, directors, writers and actors into sustained careers in the arts, helping them at the most sensitive and difficult early period of their careers. It also has the further purpose of helping to build new audiences for the fine arts and of commissioning potential masterpieces of the future.

Among Angels is a new commission by the Genesis Foundation from composer Will Todd and writer Ben Dunwell. It was given its world premiere on 19 March 2006, the occasion of the 50th birthday of Genesis Founder and Chairman, John Studzinski in the Parish and Pilgrimage Church, St Wolfgang, near Salzburg. There was a further performances in London in June.

Isidora Žebeljan has created a new piece for the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, commissioned by the Genesis Foundation. Originally the piece was to be developed from Song of a Traveller in the Night: a Tribute to Bill Viola which was presented in London's National Gallery in October 2002. Isidora, however, has come up with a totally new composition for chamber orchestra.

An Update on LAMDA Genesis Foundation Scholars Thursday, 19 August 2010

Tom Riley (class of 2005) will be appearing at 9pm tonight (6th September) in the ITV1 drama Bouquet of Barbed Wire alongside Trevor Eve and fellow LAMDA alumnus, Hermione Norris. Meanwhile, Paul Tinto (class of 2010) is currently understudying in the critically acclaimed Black Watch at the Barbican Theatre which will run from 27th November 2010 to 22nd January 2011.
