
The Young Vic Theatre officially re-opened its doors to the public on 11 October with a short run (11 October - 21 October) of Jonathan Dove’s uplifting community opera, Tobias and the Angel. This work, which was a huge success while the Young Vic was on walkabout, has a particular significance to the theatre because the cast and chorus are largely made up of local neighbours of the theatre who live in Southwark and Lambeth. The use of the auditorium and the impact of the show itself were a bit hit with the critics and with audiences alike. The Young Vic now goes on to:
There will also be a series of short plays performed, called Wild Lunch, between 21 November and 1 December on the Main House Stage at 1.15 pm each afternoon.
