A Kick Up the Aria

First the three tenors put the opera into football; now it’s up to Tête à Tête to put the kick into opera. Join us as we take the terraces by storm in a jubilant festival of more than 30 new works in our biggest programme yet of entirely 21st century drama and storytelling driven by music and the voice.

Over an action packed three weeks, we host up to six different performances a night where artists will strain every sinew to poke, prod, nudge, dribble and lovingly kick about this most immediate, engaging, sensual, consuming and sweaty of art-forms.

Paul Clark kicks up a storm with The Weather Man for Opera North, Errollyn and Byron Wallen unite their jazz and classical careers to explore their touching family story, Glyndebourne Youth Opera and WNO Max showcase innovative community works, Roswitha Gerlitz mingles performing shadows and singing contortionists, Impropera's work is so new they will make it up as they go along, Tête à Tête gives you a tantalising glimpse of their own future shows, and many, many more performers and artists invite you into their laboratories to let you become part of their next big thing.

Ticketed performances are all at 7.00, 8.30 and 10pm. Tickets can be bought for individual shows (£6) or for all three shows at just (£15). A limited number of Meal Tickets (£27.50) will be available each evening which includes entrance to all evening performances and a two-course dinner at the Riverside Bar and Kitchen.

With interval drinks on the terrace, and three weeks of action it’s definitely worth a season ticket!
