The Genesis Foundation has been working with the fringe opera company Tête à Tête since June, 2008, to develop projects, programmes and individual shows with the express aim of widening the audience for contemporary opera. Through a summer festival that presents about 30 new works in various stages of development that engage with a more avant garde audience and its tastes, the company finds projects to present at its annual autumn residency at the Riverside Studios in London’s Hammersmith. There it presents a fully-developed and fully-staged complete new opera each year.
