
Filippo del Corno, Composer (Italian)
Filippo Del Corno was born in Milan in 1970. He studied composition at the Conservatorio "G. Verdi" with Danilo Lorenzini and Azio Corghi.
Performances and commissions of his music include Ecco Il Segno, performed by the London Sinfonietta under Luciano Berio in 1994; Jeu Parti, commissioned by the Lucerne International Festival in 1996; and Sulla corda piu alta, a music theatre work for three soloists (actor, dancer, cellist) and wind orchestra, freely adapted from the thoughts and actions of the famous acrobat Philip Petit.
In 1997, in collaboration with Carlo Boccadoro and Angelo Miotto, he founded "Sentieri selvaggi",a group dedicated to new music. Their most recent success was Orfeo a fumetti, a chamber opera by Filippo Del Corno based on the comic book Poema a fumetti by Dino Buzzati. The opera received its first production in the Teatro di Portaromana, Milan, with the participation of the Italian rock-star Omar Pedrini (Timoria). After its great success it was performed in Turin, Mantua and Rome.
Angelo Miotto, Librettist (Italian)
Angelo Miotto was born in Milan in 1969 and became a a journalist in 1996. He is editor and correspondent for Radio Popolare Network and also writes on weekly magazines such as Panorama and Il Diario della Settimana.
In collaboration with Radio Popolare Network he created, directed and produced a number of broadcast programmes dedicated to classical music.
