Nikki Julian (Class of 2009)

Monday, 1 January 2009

Nikki JulianNikki was born in Sheffield, but lived in Leicestershire from the age of seven. He attended Ashby School, where he obtained 10 GCSEs and studied for A Level Theatre Studies, AS Level Film Studies and an AVCE in Leisure and Recreation.

Nikki’s interest in acting was encouraged at both primary and secondary school where he performed in numerous productions. His roles included Leonardo in Blood Wedding and Captain Tempest in Return to the Forbidden Planet. Nikki was also involved in theatre outside of school, taking part in numerous productions that toured to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival including West Side Story, Stags and Hens and One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.

Since completing his education, Nikki has worked as the Theatre/Technical Manager for his old school, which has given him the valuable opportunity to learn more about performance from a behind-the-scenes perspective. He has also continued to perform in a number of youth theatre productions both in Leicestershire and at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

LAMDA was always Nikki’s first choice of drama school and he was thrilled to be offered a place on the Three Year BA (Hons) Professional Acting Course.

Nikki had a very successful second year at LAMDA. He performed extremely well in the Musical Theatre Project and The Long Project. In his first term, Nikki played Lambert/Terry in Pinter’s Celebration/Party Time (directed by renowned London theatre critic Michael Billington) and the evil Duke in The Revenger’s Tragedy.

Nikki graduated from the Academy with a first class honours degree.
