Natalie Carter, a young ballerina supported by the Genesis Foundation, has recently returned to England for bed rest following a diagnosis of inflammation of the hip. She was told by a Russian doctor that she had overused the ligaments and tissue around the hip joint and in order for it to fully heal she would need to go without exercise for a month. The news came as Natalie was preparing for the March gala which would have been her chance to make her debut on the Bolshoi stage in a solo piece, which for an International girl at traineeship level is a real achievement.
Natalie is now back in Russia and has just completed her first full week of classes. Her hip seems to have benefitted from having two weeks rest and now Natalie is focusing on working hard for her exams, which fall at the end of this term.
