Jack BealeJohn was born and brought up in mid-Wales and has been passionate about theatre from an early age. Before coming to LAMDA he was a member of the National Youth Theatre of Wales and also excelled as a musician, performing in the National Youth Orchestra of Wales as a violinist.

John graduated from the Three Year BA (Hons) Professional Acting Course in July 2006. During the final year of his training, his roles included Gasparo in The White Devil, Mick Morley in The Changing Room and Maximilian in Candide. John was also part of a group of students who set up a stage combat company, The Clash of Steel.  He won the inaugural LAMDA Deutsche Bank Pyramid Award for Producing, New Writing and Directing in the Dramatic Arts.

Since graduating, John has appeared in Peter Stein’s production of Troilus and Cressida at the Edinburgh International Festival and at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon as part of their Complete Works Festival. Subsequently he has also performed as James in Tom’s Midnight Garden at the Nottingham Playhouse as well as working in film.
