Genesis Premieres at Westminster Cathedral

Thursday, 6 March 2008 Genesis Premieres at Westminster Cathedral

The Genesis Foundation commissioned three British composers James Macmillan, Roxanna Panufnik and Will Todd to compose musical settings for the text Stay with Me Lord, Padre Pio’s “Prayer After Communion”.  Padre Pio was an immensely controversial and holy man in his lifetime who was canonized by the Catholic Church in 2002. All three were given world premieres at Westminster Cathedral in London on 3 June 2008 at 7.00 pm performed by The Sixteen under their founder and conductor, Harry Christophers.

About 1,200 people attended the sold-out concert.
