GENESIS OBJECTIVES AND IDEALS

Objectives

The working brief of the Genesis Foundation is to become involved in projects that support artists in the earliest stage of their careers. We also work with more established artists when it is relevant to some new and important development in their career that they would otherwise not have the support to explore.

We offer practical help for emerging professionals at a time when their self-esteem needs bolstering and development within their chosen spheres of artistic endeavour or when they need support financially, psychologically or through mentoring.

Both through financial support and various mentoring programmes, the aim of the Foundation is to get these artists through what is usually a fragile and difficult period so that their creativity can mature.

With our support we hope that the emerging artists will gain experience and strength from the work they achieve under the umbrella of a Genesis Foundation project. We want to enable them to develop into fully fledged practicing professionals able to support themselves in their chosen career.

Ideals

By supporting programmes that stimulate the development, commissioning and presentation of new operas, plays and other works of art, Genesis aims to make a contribution to refreshing approaches to established as well as new art forms in the 21st century.

By focusing mainly on young and developing artists and by giving them a springboard into a new career or a new path, Genesis believes that it is also reaching out to new audiences.

Genesis is ambitious to help develop the tastes, appreciation and knowledge of contemporary audiences as much as to help the artists who will labour to provide innovative works.
