Natalie Carter, a 16 year-old British ballet dancer will pursue her dream of studying at Moscow’s legendary Bolshoi Ballet Academy thanks to a grant from the Genesis Foundation. Natalie is the second female British dancer ever to get a place in the Bolshoi’s 230-year history.

Natalie can expect 18 hours a week of intensive ballet classes when she moves to Moscow at the end of August as well as two hours of Russian language lessons.

Natalie's mother, Sue, sent out thousands of letters to charities seeking financial help to meet her daughter's fees, but it was the Genesis Foundation’s response that’s made everything possible.

Genesis Foundation’s founder and chairman John Studzinski commented:

“We are thrilled with Natalie's success and delighted to support her given the focus of the Genesis Foundation is nurturing young talent. Natalie is an excellent example of talent that deserves to be encouraged and we wish her every success.”
