Faye Elvin (Class of 2010)

Monday, 1 January 2009

Faye was born in Sheffield and grew up in Bath where she attended Wellsway School, obtaining 11 GCSEs including Drama, Music and Dance and four A Levels in Theatre Studies, Dance, French and English Literature.  During this time she also obtained several qualifications in Dance and Drama, including a silver medal in acting with LAMDA Examinations. Faye also won a staggering 11 cups in the Mid-Somerset Speech and Drama Festivals during a six year period.

Fascinated by the arts and with a love of art, singing, acting and dancing, Faye immersed herself in the world of dramatic arts, gaining invaluable experience working as a TV extra on Casualty, Down To Earth and Teachers, as well as large-scale blockbusters Emma and The Other Boleyn Girl. Faye worked with various theatrical companies including the National Youth Theatre on a range of productions including God Save the Teen (performed in Trafalgar Square). Before coming to LAMDA Faye had notched up credits in 22 musicals including Some Like it Hot, Les Miserables, Sweeny Todd and A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum.

Faye’s dancing also took her to a range of venues including Disneyland Paris and the Theatre Royal Bath, where she performed in a number of professional pantomimes.

With this wealth of experience behind her, Faye auditioned for and happily secured a place on the Three-Year BA (Hons) Professional Acting Course at LAMDA.

In her first year at LAMDA Faye played Nadia in Some Explicit Polaroids by Mark Ravenhill, Vittoria in The White Devil by Webster, Jennifer in The Mistanthrope by Molière and Antigone in Antigone by Sophocles.
