
Jean-Philippe Calvin is a young French composer who is working with the Genesis Foundation to develop an opera based on Eugene Ionesco's absurdist play La Cantatrice Chauve. After the successful completion of its workshop phase via the OperaGenesis programme, Genesis will co-produce this opera in Paris for 2009. Jean-Philippe has recently composed a piece of music, Sophia, which he has dedicated to the Founder and Chairman of the Genesis Foundation, John Studzinski.

The piece will be commercially recorded in the future along with other works, but meantime Jean-Philippe has arranged for us to have an exclusive performance of the work for the Genesis website. The composer is conducting the Paris Conservatory Orchestra.

View media...Tom Riley (class of 2005) will be appearing at 9pm tonight (6th September) in the ITV1 drama Bouquet of Barbed Wire alongside Trevor Eve and fellow LAMDA alumnus, Hermione Norris. Meanwhile, Paul Tinto (class of 2010) is currently understudying in the critically acclaimed Black Watch at the Barbican Theatre which will run from 27th November 2010 to 22nd January 2011.
