Background
The Genesis Foundation is a UK-based charity created in January 2001 to support young artists in a variety of art forms.
The young people and the institutions it has helped have largely come to its notice through personal recommendation and through contact with others in the world of cultural development.
Objectives
Genesis aims to become involved in projects that, by and large, support young artists in the earliest stages of their career. It has been set up to provide practical support to young professionals at a time when their self-esteem probably needs bolstering. Both through its financial support and its mentoring programmes, its aim is to get these artists through what is usually a fragile period so that their creativity can develop and they can gain experience and strength from the work they achieve under the umbrella of Genesis support.
Past Work
Genesis, therefore, has already established several projects that you can read about on this web site and the progress of which you can follow.
By helping to support programmes that stimulate the commissioning and presentation of new opera, drama and works of art, by focusing mainly on young and developing artists and giving them the springboard into a career in which they can mature, Genesis believes that it is also reaching out to the new, young audiences that will develop their tastes, appreciation and knowledge of the contemporary arts by enjoying the fruits of these labours.
Please explore our web site to find out more about the individual projects that interest you; and also about developments and new directions being taken by the Genesis Foundation.
