Alisha Williams, LAMDA Scholar, support from the Genesis FoundationAlisha was born in Tooting and brought up in Penge. From the age of 14 she studied at The BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology. She majored in Musical Theatre for four years and also gained an ALevel in Drama and Theatre Studies.

Alisha has performed in a variety of venues such as the Queen Elizabeth Hall, the Wembley Conference Centre and the York Theatre (off-Broadway). At the BRIT School Alisha played roles such as Lin in Cloud Nine, Nora in A Dolls House and Miranda in The Tempest. She also appeared in several devised pieces, Steer the Stars and in the musical of Grand Hotel as Flaemchen - Joan's Crawford part in the original film. While at the BRIT School in one of her Easter breaks Alisha auditioned for the Greenwich Musical Theatre Academy where she took her grade 4 and 6 Trinity and Guildhall Awards in Musical Theatre, gaining a Distinction and Merit respectively. Alisha also became a member of The Laban youth group in 2005.

After the BRIT School Alisha was accepted onto the LAMDA Foundation Course, during which she played the lead female role in the final production of the course called Resurrection, written and directed by course tutor Adam Megiddo. While at LAMDA Alisha played Lisa in The Wonderful World of Dissocia (for which she was also the choreographer), Nina in The Seagull and the older sister in a duologue from Stoning Mary.

Alisha completed the LAMDA Foundation Course in 2008 and feels that The BRIT School and the LAMDA Foundation Course have given her the tools to develop her technique throughout her degree course at LAMDA. In July 2008 Alisha successfully auditioned for the Genesis Bursary.

Alisha embarked on her first full year of the LAMDA Three-Year BA (Hons) Professional Acting Course in September 2008 as a Genesis Scholar.
