The focus of the Genesis Foundation is on helping inspirational young individuals in the fields of music, theatre, dance and the visual arts. On this page you will find information on the artists who are currently receiving support from the Genesis Foundation.

Isidora Žebeljan Isidora Žebeljan

Genesis heard and took note of the work of Isidora Žebeljan at the first Genesis Opera Project workshops in 2002. A segment from an early version of her opera, Zora D, was developed and given a presentation.

Roxanna Panufnik Roxanna Panufnik

12 years after the Genesis Foundation commissioned Roxanna Panufnik’s Westminster Mass, which contines to be an international success, Roxanna Panufnik has become a composer in demand. Her 40th birthday year featured 18 premieres in nine countries.

Jean-Philippe Calvin Jean-Philippe Calvin

Composer, conductor and percussionist, Jean Philippe Calvin, was born in France in 1974. He has eclectic taste and is as happy with contemporary pop music, jazz and musical comedy as he is with formal opera, film music and stage music of all kinds, making him a multi-faceted musician with an interest in every form of music making.

Will Todd Will Todd

Will Todd was born in Durham in 1970. He received an Honours degree in Music from the University of Bristol in 1991 and an MMUS in 1993. Will met Ben Dunwell, librettist, at Bristol University and began their collaboration at that time. Their first Genesis Commission was to write a special piece of music, Among Angels.

An Update on LAMDA Genesis Foundation Scholars Thursday, 19 August 2010

Paul Tinto (class of 2010) is currently understudying in the critically acclaimed Black Watch at the Barbican Theatre which will run from 27th November 2010 to 22nd January 2011. Meanwhile, Tom Riley (class of 2005) will soon be appearing in the ITV1 drama A Bouquet of Barbed Wire alongside Trevor Eve and fellow LAMDA alumnus, Hermione Norris.
